Thirty years' imprisonment for Delphine Pinto, alleged perpetrator of her husband's murder in Oise
The courts have convicted a 48-year-old woman and her accomplice to three decades of imprisonment for the organised-crime murder of Jean-Christophe Piel, who was shot dead in 2021 in Breuil-le-Vert.

On Friday, 12 June, shortly before midnight, the jurors of the special assize court of the Oise department handed down a sentence of thirty years' criminal imprisonment against Delphine Pinto. She was tried for orchestrating the homicide of her spouse, Jean-Christophe Piel, found dead at his home on 24 August 2021, with a bullet lodged in the back of his neck.
Alongside her in the dock, Yassine Zekri was also found responsible for the crime committed for payment. He received an identical sentence, with an enhanced two-thirds security period. However, the public prosecution service had requested a life sentence with security of twenty-two years for each of the two defendants. Until the end, they denied any involvement in the death.
During the hearing, the defendant admitted to having expressed the wish to see her husband, from whom she was in the process of separating, disappear, and to having shared this idea with one of her lovers.
Five people have been referred to this court since 29 May. One of the defendant's lovers received sixteen years' imprisonment for complicity in homicide. Another individual, guilty of having procured the weapon used and already known to the courts, was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment, a sentence four years less than that requested by the prosecution. As for the main defendant's son, from a previous relationship, he was acquitted whilst the public prosecutor had requested four years' imprisonment for receiving stolen goods from a confidence.
The legal representatives of the murdered person's relatives, contacted by AFP, said they were satisfied with the outcome of the deliberations. On the defendants' side, appeals could be filed.
