Pistol found in Lake Annecy, possible weapon from the Chevaline crime

Fourteen years after the Chevaline massacre, an automatic pistol was recovered from the bottom of Lake Annecy by British tourists, according to TF1 Info. The immediate question arises: is this the weapon used in the quadruple murder?

At the time of the crimes, four people were found dead on a country road, in one of the most mysterious criminal cases of recent years in France. The perpetrator or perpetrators have never been identified.

The weapon discovered is to be sent within the next few hours to experts at the National Gendarmerie for analysis. The conclusions of this examination could constitute a decisive turning point in a case that remains officially unsolved.
