A pistol discovered at the bottom of Lake Annecy could constitute a new development in one of France's most puzzling criminal cases, reports France Info. The weapon is now to be submitted for analysis as part of the investigation into the Chevaline shooting, which has remained unsolved since 2012.
Four people were shot dead that day on a forest car park near the hamlet of Chevaline, in Haute-Savoie. Among the victims were a British father of a family, his wife, his mother-in-law, and a French cyclist who happened to be on the scene. Two young girls survived. Thirteen years later, neither the perpetrators nor the motive for the quadruple murder have been identified.
