Teenager stabbed to death at Villevaudé campsite, minor arrested
A 17-year-old was killed Saturday evening at a campsite in Seine-et-Marne. Another teenager, his presumed romantic rival, was taken into custody overnight.

A 17-year-old teenager lost his life on Saturday 23 May, stabbed around 19:30 at a campsite in Villevaudé, in Seine-et-Marne, according to France Info. Another minor of the same age was taken into custody overnight. According to initial investigative findings, the murder appears to have been motivated by a romantic rivalry.
Sunday morning, security guards were stationed at the campsite entrance, in an atmosphere that witnesses described as tense. Customers present at the time of the incident recounted the scene: "There was someone who came running in, who stabbed another person and left immediately. After that, there was a crowd movement. All the children panicked. They called their parents. The parents came. People were running everywhere. And that's when we saw the kid lying on the ground. We were waiting for the firefighters, the emergency services."
The campsite manager indicated that his team had immediately provided assistance to the victim after she collapsed a few metres further on. "Security perimeter. Our teams took over and there was first aid provided. But even with the arrival of the emergency services and firefighters, they were unable to help the victim, unfortunately," he said.
An afternoon under tension before the tragedy
The crime appears to have occurred against a background of jealousy: the presumed attacker had apparently not accepted that his ex-girlfriend was in a relationship with the victim. The campsite clarified that the deceased young man was not a registered client of the establishment. However, witnesses indicate that he had spent the afternoon at the swimming pool with his girlfriend, and that the situation was already tense well before the assault.
"They were sitting not very far from us and it's true that there was shouting on the phone, they were arguing, I don't know with whom, surely with the person. At the end of the day, when we went to the changing rooms to go home, he was in the showers and precisely, he was shouting on the phone," one of the people present testified.
Presumed attacker hospitalised before arrest
The campsite's surveillance videos were seized by investigators. According to a source close to the investigation, the attacker injured himself during the fight. He was first treated at Bondy hospital, in Seine-Saint-Denis, before being taken into custody by police overnight from Saturday to Sunday. The investigation is continuing to establish the exact circumstances of the murder.
