Law enforcement placed a 42-year-old Defence Ministry employee in pre-trial detention following a search conducted on 10 June at his flat located near the Balard site, the headquarters of the French military general staffs. The individual, who held a senior position in the IT field, was committed for trial once his custody period ended, according to news outlet Le Figaro.
This judicial procedure stems from a complaint filed in mid-January by a woman who claims to have suffered sexual assault by the suspect between 2021 and 2024, when he was already working within the ministry. In her statement, she reportedly flagged the man's interest in prepubescent minors. She also indicated that he had asked her several times for photographs of her as a child.
During the search, investigators reportedly seized child sexual abuse content, material linked to zoophilia, and simulations involving children. The military institution acknowledged the existence of an ongoing procedure. Within the administration, the matter reportedly did not provoke any particular reactions, and the defendant's digital profile apparently revealed nothing untoward.
