Drug convoy seized at Franco-Spanish border: one tonne of cannabis and six arrests
Judicial police intercepted a drug-trafficking convoy on Tuesday evening between the Franco-Spanish border and Saint-Jean-de-Luz. One tonne of cannabis and six suspects were seized.

The judicial police brought an end, on Tuesday evening, to the activities of a drug-trafficking convoy operating between the Franco-Spanish border and Saint-Jean-de-Luz. The operation, reported by France Info, resulted in the seizure of one tonne of cannabis resin and the arrest of six people.
The investigation had been launched several months earlier by the second district of the judicial police of the Paris police prefecture. It was agents from the national Search and Intervention Brigade (BRI) who carried out the interception of the convoy in the evening. The street value of the seized drugs is estimated at two million euros.
A former armoured van robber among the suspects
Among the six individuals apprehended is a former cash courier convicted in 2022 to ten years' imprisonment. His sentence followed the theft of an armoured van containing more than three million euros. The man had been released from detention only a few months before being arrested again in connection with this drug-trafficking case.
