The trial of a 35-year-old Danish businessman, accused of killing his partner Sasia Amalie Morsø in September 2022 in a luxury villa in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, is scheduled for 12–16 April 2026 before the Nice tribunal.

The Nice tribunal will examine the case of a 35-year-old Danish businessman suspected of murdering his partner in September 2022 in southern France between 12 and 16 April 2026. The information was communicated by the Nice public prosecutor's office to Danish television channel TV 2.
The victim, Sasia Amalie Morsø, a 30-year-old Danish woman from Åbyhøj near Aarhus, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head, locked in a refrigerator near Mandelieu-la-Napoule, a resort on the French Riviera. The couple had rented a luxury villa there.
According to investigative findings, the defendant allegedly asked acquaintances to transport the refrigerator to a landfill. A foul odour emanating from the sealed appliance aroused their suspicion. Upon opening it, they discovered Morsø's body along with a dead dog. Law enforcement subsequently carried out a search of the residence, where they found a second dead dog in a freezer, loaded weapons and narcotics.
The man was arrested shortly after the events and remanded in custody at Grasse prison since September 2022. The investigation, conducted under the direction of an investigating judge, lasted nearly three years before concluding in autumn 2025. This delay is explained by French criminal procedure, in which the investigating judge investigates both for and against the defendant and orders further investigative steps, as explained to TV 2 by Danish lawyer Dan Shefet based in France.
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that consular assistance continued to be provided to the detainee. The defence counsel previously indicated that his client contested the facts he was accused of.
