The police inspectorate is investigating an incident that occurred during celebrations of Paris Saint-Germain's triumph, where a teenager was reportedly injured in the eye by a shot fired from a police vehicle.

The General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) has opened an investigation following an incident that occurred in the evening after Paris Saint-Germain's victory in the Champions League. A 13-year-old adolescent was allegedly struck in the face by a shot from a riot-control launcher (LBD) fired from a police vehicle, according to information confirmed on Tuesday 2 June by the Bobigny prosecutor's office.
The young man "was allegedly injured in the eye following a shot from an LBD that appears to have come from a police car", according to initial findings from the investigation. It was Seine-Saint-Denis MP Aly Diouara, a member of La France insoumise, who alerted the public by posting on social network X a video showing the boy with his face covered in blood. On this basis, the prosecutor's office was notified on Monday.
However, the public prosecutor's office clarified that "no complaint or report regarding these facts had previously been brought to its attention". The IGPN must now "identify and then interview the victim".
During government question time, MP Aly Diouara challenged the interior minister on this matter, denouncing "police brutality" against young people from "working-class neighbourhoods" and mentioning an adolescent who had "lost the use of one eye".
Laurent Nuñez committed to ensuring that "full light will be shed on this case", whilst also expressing his regrets. He added, however, that he did not understand "the context". The minister had already stated on Sunday that there had been a "significant increase" in the use of riot-control launchers at public gatherings, promising to have "figures" compiled on this trend.
