A performance technician has come forward to reinforce accusations against Patrick Bruel. Sabine Langaret, now elderly, recounted on the air on BFMTV on 6 June an incident that occurred more than three decades ago, according to La Provence.
In 1992, the young woman worked as a lighting technician at the famous Parisian venue the Bataclan, on the occasion of the filming of a television programme to which the performer was invited. She describes a moment when they were apart, in the darkness of the wings, concealed by a curtain. The man allegedly pinned her against the wall, held her tight in his arms and covered her neck with repeated kisses. She claims to have sensed an erection when he pressed himself against her, which prompted her to reject him by asking for an explanation.
According to her testimony, the artist appeared unsettled. He allegedly attempted to justify his behaviour by claiming to have been seduced by the beauty of her neck, then came back towards her to make sexual comments about this part of her body.
The complainant specifies that she informed those close to her of this episode shortly after it occurred. However, she only decided to speak openly recently, following the publication of her story on the internet. Readers allegedly encouraged her to reveal publicly what had happened.
This matter adds to other legal proceedings initiated against the singer for sexual violence. He denies all the charges against him. The controversy has already had a commercial impact: his performances in Paris, his Canadian tour and his appearance in the south of France have been cancelled.
