Approximately 100 people gathered outside Strasbourg's judicial court to pay tribute to Noahm, who died following an attack characterised as homophobic. The demonstration, organised by the Front d'Action Gay, brought together activists, citizens and several elected officials.
The participants condemned the manner in which the case was handled by the judiciary and institutions. The court had not immediately recognised the aggravating circumstance related to the homophobic nature of the facts, which sparked indignation among the organisers. Furthermore, the minute of silence observed at the National Assembly in memory of the victim did not mention the homophobia of the alleged attackers, a point that the demonstrators deeply regret.
Among the elected officials present or supporting the initiative were Florian Kobryn, a member of La France insoumise, and Sandra Regol, an environmentalist. The organisers called for a minute of silence to be observed at the next municipal councils of the City of Strasbourg and the Eurométropole.
The demonstrators also invited Strasbourg residents to participate in the pride march the following week. Some participants stressed that homophobic insults remain commonplace, particularly in schools.
