Six people suspected of sexually assaulting a woman during a break-in in Villeneuve-d'Ascq have been apprehended, the Lille prosecutor's office announced on Sunday 5 July.
The break-in took place at a residence in this municipality located on the outskirts of Lille. An occupant was subjected to sexual violence by the perpetrators.
The investigation launched following the victim's complaint enabled investigators to identify the alleged perpetrators. The police operation resulted in the arrest of all six individuals within less than six months.
The suspects were placed in police custody. They will have to answer for their actions in court for the facts of rape committed in a group and aggravated burglary.
