On Wednesday 1 July, the judiciary sought a conviction of six months' imprisonment with probation over two years, plus a fine of €12,000, against property agent and former television personality Stéphane Plaza. The hearing was held before the higher court for domestic violence offences, according to information from franceinfo.
Aged 56, the accused had already been found guilty by a criminal court in February 2025. The judges had imposed one year's suspended prison sentence for acts of physical and psychological violence perpetrated between 2018 and 2022 against a former partner named Amandine.
Concerning a second woman, Paola, the man had benefited from an acquittal. The judges considered that the accusations of psychological violence were based primarily solely on her testimony, without however questioning her credibility. Magistrate Nadine Perrin followed this position, finding the evidence insufficient for a conviction on this point.
Regarding the facts involving Amandine, the public prosecution representative asked for the qualification to be modified by removing the habitual nature of the violence. She also sought provisional execution of the sentence, a prohibition on all contact with the victim, and training on awareness of domestic violence.
