Violence in Paris schools: investigations opened in more than one hundred establishments
The Paris prosecutor has opened investigations in more than one hundred schools. Since January, 78 officials have been suspended, including 31 on suspicion of sexual violence.

According to France Info, Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau announced on Sunday, 17 May the opening of judicial investigations into possible violence in more than one hundred school establishments in the capital.
Since the start of the year, 78 municipal officials assigned to Paris schools have been suspended. Among them, 31 have been suspended on suspicion of sexual violence, according to information reported by France Info.
The investigations concern the extracurricular sector, namely childcare and supervised activity structures outside school hours. The scale of the judicial operation — more than one hundred establishments targeted — is evidence of the extent of investigations being conducted by the Paris prosecutors' office.
