Greg Guillotin admits violence against ex-partner, investigation handed to Essonne gendarmerie

YouTuber Greg Guillotin, 43, admitted on Saturday 5 September to inflicting "physical and psychological violence" on his former partner. In a statement sent to several news outlets, including BFM TV, he declared: "I will neither deny them nor seek to justify them."

He confirms that the complainant filed a complaint against him in June. The Évry public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into violence and harassment against a partner between 2019 and 2026, entrusted to the Essonne gendarmerie grouping, BFM TV learned from concordant sources.

In his statement, the comedian acknowledges a painful contradiction: "For years, I made millions of people laugh. At home, on several occasions, I was also violent with the person who shared my life. Both are true. Both have been me. I never want to be the second again."

He also offers public apologies to his ex-partner: "To the woman who shared my life for seven years, I owe an apology. I offer it here, once again, publicly, even if I know it may seem insignificant."

"Years of blows, insults and belittlement"

The complainant's lawyer, Me Jean-Baptiste Riolacci, spoke to Agence France-Presse of "years of blows, insults and belittlement" by the YouTuber. He specified that the two "met on social networks, when she was only 19 years old and he was 35".

Me Riolacci stressed that his client "fears above all that the acts of which she was a victim will be repeated on other women". The complainant has submitted to the public prosecutor's office "all the concrete evidence gathered in support of her complaint" and "has confidence in justice, which now has responsibility for assessing its significance," he added.

Psychiatric treatment for a year before the breakup

Greg Guillotin states in his statement that he "began to be followed by a psychiatrist" a year before the end of his relationship with the complainant. "You learn there to look at what you have done without turning away, and to do the necessary work so that it never happens again. I still see him today. I will continue for as long as necessary," he wrote.

Followed by nearly 4.5 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, Greg Guillotin is also known as a comedian. The investigation opened by the Évry public prosecutor's office concerns facts covering a seven-year period.
