According to fr.news.yahoo.com, two gendarmes from the Pointe-à-Pitre branch of the GIGN were seriously wounded by gunshots during a judicial police operation at Abymes, in Guadeloupe. One was struck in the leg, the other in the arm, according to information reported by La 1ère.

Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez announced the news in a post on X. "I offer them all my support and wish them a swift recovery. Attacking our law enforcement is intolerable," he wrote.

Four suspects were arrested following the operation. The minister specified that investigations were continuing. "We will not give up in the face of organised crime and gang violence," Laurent Nuñez concluded.
