Fatal shooting in Vieux-Bourg, Abymes: one dead, one injured
A man was killed and another injured on Tuesday evening in the Vieux-Bourg neighbourhood of Abymes. A passenger in a grey car opened fire on a group.

According to rci.fm, gunshots rang out in the early evening on Tuesday 15 September in the Vieux-Bourg neighbourhood of Abymes. Upon arriving at the scene, emergency services found two men on the ground: one seriously wounded, the other injured. The first did not survive his wounds.
A patrol from the national police, who were in the vicinity at the time of the incident, arrived at the scene shortly after the shots were fired.
Surveillance footage, subsequently shared on social media, shows several men talking outside a shop on a narrow street in the neighbourhood. Within seconds, a grey car comes to a stop in the middle of the group. The passenger produces a weapon from the window and opens fire, before leaving the vehicle to pursue his targets. He then gets back in and the vehicle immediately leaves the scene.
The exact circumstances of the incident remain to be established. A judicial investigation has been opened and should be assigned to the central police station's services.
This murder adds to a series of violent incidents reported in recent days in the archipelago, rci.fm reports.
