The territorial directorate of the national police of Guadeloupe (DTPN 971) seized, within the space of several days, 94 cartons of smuggled cigarettes, more than 11 kilograms of cannabis, several hundred grammes of cocaine and crack, as well as five firearms, reports guadeloupe.franceantilles.fr.
Several of the weapons found were accompanied by ammunition. The authorities indicate that these seizures make it possible to deprive illegal networks of a significant source of revenue and to remove from public streets products likely to fuel delinquency and violence.
These operations also led to several arrests and detentions in custody. Investigators are continuing their investigations in order to trace the supply chains and identify any accomplices.
