Shots were fired on Thursday 24 September in Petit-Bourg, in the vicinity of the Laura Flessel sports hall, according to rci.fm. The victim, a 25-year-old man, was shot in the head following an evening event held near this sports facility.
The Pointe-à-Pitre prosecutor's office has confirmed the opening of a murder investigation, assigned to the gendarmerie's research section. Forensic police, a pathologist and a magistrate attended the scene on 24 September.
An autopsy of the body is scheduled for Monday 28 September. At this stage, no arrests have been made.
