Drug seizures in Pointe-à-Pitre during two coordinated operations

Two successive police operations were conducted on 28 and 29 September 2026 in two sectors of Pointe-à-Pitre, resulting in two arrests and the seizure of approximately fifty sachets of cocaine and cannabis, according to guadeloupe.franceantilles.fr.

On Monday 28 September, 25 police officers were deployed in the Mortenol sector, including three dog handlers sent as reinforcements from Martinique. The operation took place in the presence of Philippe Mizinik, territorial director of the National Police of Guadeloupe. In total, 12 people were checked and 4 vehicles inspected. One individual was arrested for possession of narcotic substances.

The following day, Tuesday 29 September, a new security operation targeted the Péricarpin and Cipolin residences. Conducted under the authority of the Prefect of Guadeloupe and at the requisition of the Public Prosecutor, it mobilised the Departmental Intervention Company (CDI), the Anti-crime Brigade (BAC) as well as three dog handling teams, again from Martinique. Eighteen people were checked and one vehicle inspected. One person was arrested for trafficking in narcotic substances. Approximately fifty sachets containing cocaine and cannabis have been found on site.

The two operations fall within the framework of the PADRSQ, a scheme aimed at strengthening the presence of law enforcement in targeted neighbourhoods, securing common spaces and dismantling identified drug dealing points. The National Police indicate that these regular interventions are intended to combat trafficking in narcotic substances, theft, handling of stolen goods and illegal possession of weapons.
