Shots fired at officers in Guadeloupe: five suspects remanded in custody including a minor
Five men, including a 16-year-old, were committed for trial and remanded in custody in Guadeloupe following gunfire directed at law enforcement in two separate cases.

Two robbery gangs implicated following gunfire against police
Five men, including a 16-year-old minor, were committed for trial and remanded in custody between Monday and Wednesday evening in Guadeloupe, according to 20minutes.fr. The cases concern two separate incidents of gunfire directed at law enforcement, involving what authorities say are two distinct groups.
Caroline Calbo, Public Prosecutor for Pointe-à-Pitre, presented details at a press conference at the courthouse, alongside representatives from the police and gendarmerie. The suspects belong to "two robbery teams," she stated.
First case: 44-year-old man implicated
A 44-year-old suspect was remanded in custody on Monday following his police detention. He is suspected of having belonged to a group that opened fire on gendarmes attempting to arrest them on 3 October in Sainte-Anne, then on police officers on 8 October in Pointe-à-Pitre. An AR-15 assault rifle was seized during his arrest. He is committed for trial for attempted murder of public officials, armed robbery and possession of firearms in categories A and B.
Second case: two GIGN officers wounded in Abymes
In the night of Saturday to Sunday, two gendarmes from the GIGN were wounded during an operation in the commune of Abymes, described by the prosecutor as a "regular theatre of criminal activity". The operation aimed to intercept a group suspected of robberies. Three men in their twenties and the 16-year-old were committed for trial on Wednesday and placed in remand custody for attempted murder of public officials, armed robbery and possession of firearms.
In both cases, investigations are continuing. The five suspects face life imprisonment.
