Vrilissia: Classmate kicks 14-year-old in the kidney with kicks — hospitalised in critical condition

A 14-year-old is being treated in serious condition at a private hospital after falling victim to a brutal beating by a classmate on the evening of Friday, 18 September, in Vrilissia, according to Ta Nea.

The teenager has serious kidney injury and doctors are considering the possibility of surgical removal. Eyewitnesses describe how the perpetrator delivered powerful kicks to the abdominal area, specifically at kidney level, as well as a punch to the eye.

The incident occurred while the 14-year-old was out for a walk with his girlfriend. The classmate located him and attacked him. Witnesses report that the two children had exchanged verbal insults over the past few days, a fact that appears to have triggered the assault.

"I know about his kidney that it is in critical condition. He was kicking him where the kidney is and a punch in the eye," said an eyewitness to ANT1. A second witness reported that after the assault the 14-year-old "was down and could not speak". Despite the presence of many minors at the scene, the altercation remained between the two.

Police proceeded with the arrest of the 14-year-old perpetrator. His mother was also arrested for neglect of supervision of a minor, but was released on police bail by order of the prosecutor.
