A 25-year-old woman was found dead on Sunday, 20 September in Igoumenitsa. Her 27-year-old partner claimed they were both attacked, however he bears no visible injuries.

On the evening of Sunday, 20 September, a 25-year-old woman was found dead in Igoumenitsa, according to Newsit.gr. Police were notified by her 27-year-old partner, who reported that both of them had been attacked with a knife and that the woman had died.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they found the young woman dead. Her injuries are assessed to have been caused by a knife, according to evidence gathered so far.
Shortly afterwards, the 27-year-old was located nearby, hidden in dense vegetation. He claimed that he too had been struck during the attack. However, upon initial examination, no visible external injuries were detected on him.
The man was taken to receive first aid and is expected to be taken to the local Police Station for questioning as part of an investigation into the circumstances of the 25-year-old's death.
A medical examiner is expected to arrive at the scene in order to conduct an initial examination of the body. Authorities are working to clarify the circumstances of the young woman's death and to establish the sequence of events during the critical hours prior to her death.
