Forensic examination revealed that a 45-year-old woman in Crete died from severe blows to the head. The 43-year-old suspect is alleged to have transported her by van and buried her in a rural area to cover up his tracks.

The autopsy–necrotomy performed on Monday afternoon revealed that 45-year-old Stavrula Leventaki died from severe craniocerebral injuries. The fatal wounds appear to have resulted from blows to the head with a wooden object, according to authorities' allegations against the 43-year-old man charged with the crime in Crete.
Two stab wounds to the chest were also found on the woman's body; however, forensic pathologists characterised them as superficial and unrelated to her death. Police investigations are continuing intensively in order to establish the exact motives behind the murder.
Minutes before the fatal meeting, a security camera from an adjacent building recorded the unfortunate woman walking towards the suspect's house. In the footage, she is seen carrying bags and moving calmly, with nothing suggesting she was in danger.
Subsequently, the perpetrator is alleged to have transported the body in a van to a rural area to bury it and cover up his tracks. According to reports broadcast on Live News and Mega, the 43-year-old faced difficulties moving the corpse within the vehicle. To facilitate this, he used a construction trolley that was available, after first confirming there were no witnesses around his house.
The visual material released to the public shows the suspect driving the van towards the field where he ultimately hid the body, in an attempt to conceal the violent incident.
