Police arrested a 34-year-old man in the Agios Panteleimonas area of Athens yesterday afternoon. The suspect faces charges of indecent assault and child corruption.
The incident was reported by a mother, who stated that while she was in a children's playground with her 3-year-old son, an unknown man sitting on a nearby bench made inappropriate gestures and attempted to give sweets to the child.
The woman immediately alerted the prosecuting authorities. Police officers who rushed to the scene located the suspect in the area's square and brought him in for questioning.
