In the early hours of Wednesday, a heavy vehicle veered off course in Aigaleo, causing a chain of collisions with six parked cars. The incident occurred on Bouboulinas Street, number 20, shortly after one o'clock in the morning.
According to a report by efsyn.gr, the 48-year-old lorry driver, an Albanian national, lost control of the vehicle. The heavy vehicle successively collided with the six cars that were parked on the side of the road, causing significant material damage.
Police officers who rushed to the scene conducted a breathalyser test, which showed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The 48-year-old was arrested and taken to the police station, and a file was opened against him for driving under the influence of intoxication and causing material damage.
The authorities are conducting a preliminary investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident, as well as the extent of the damage caused to the parked vehicles. The vehicles involved suffered serious material damage from the force of the collisions.
