Amalias: Incendiary attack on apartment building entrance

Unknown individuals placed an improvised device at the entrance of an apartment building located on 25th March Street in Amalias, causing material damage.

The explosive device consisted of three liquefied petroleum gas cylinders and a container with fuel. The attack occurred at a time when there were no passersby, a fact that averted the risk of people being injured.

Police officers from the local station are conducting a preliminary investigation to identify the perpetrators and establish the motives behind the action. The incident is being examined in light of both criminal violence and possible disputes between residents or other personal differences.

According to Protothema, the explosion caused damage to the building's entrance. Residents have been called to provide statements on what they know about the incident, whilst the authorities are investigating the possibility of a connection between this case and other similar incidents in the area.

Attacks with explosive devices on residential properties constitute a most serious offence prosecuted as a crime against life and property.
