54-year-old man executed near Loudias River – Two arrests
In the area of the Loudias River in Thessaloniki, a crime was discovered with a 54-year-old man as the victim. The man was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head, with investigations indicating that a dispute related to illegal substances lay behind the murder.
The incident reportedly took place on Saturday night. Three men – the subsequent victim and two others – moved to a residence in the Kymini area with the intention of obtaining drugs that the 54-year-old was supposedly hiding there. When they did not find what they were looking for, one of the two perpetrators seized a pistol from the third member of the group and fired at the victim, believing he had been deceived.
The case began to unravel when in the early morning hours of Sunday, a citizen approached a police officer and reported that his children had witnessed the murder. The same witness revealed to authorities that the two perpetrators had transported the dead body by car and even provided the vehicle's registration number.
This information proved crucial for the authorities, who managed to locate and arrest the two suspects. During interrogation, the arrested men reportedly admitted that they had thrown the body into the waters of the Loudias River, using bricks to weigh it down. At the scene where the crime was committed, police officers found a cartridge case.
At present, personnel from EMAK are conducting an operation on the river to locate and recover the victim's body.
