A man in his mid-thirties was found dead on Saturday evening in Exarcheia following gunshots.

Gunshots were heard on Saturday evening (13/6) in the Exarcheia district. When police arrived, they found a man approximately 35 years old dead on the steps located between Kallidromiou and Benaki streets.
The victim bore injuries from five bullets he had received to the head and face. Five pistol shell casings were found at the scene.
According to witness accounts, before the gunshots there was an altercation between two individuals. The perpetrator shot the victim and subsequently fled.
Police cordoned off the area and are conducting investigations in the broader district to locate the perpetrator. The motives behind the attack are under investigation.
