An incident involving a dangerous object was reported in the coastal area of Glyfada on Tuesday afternoon. A woman enjoying a swim observed a person holding a sharp object, a fact that caused her to feel immediate fear.
She quickly withdrew from the scene and headed towards the coastal cycling path. There she met a passer-by and explained what had happened, asking that the relevant authorities be notified. There were no organised law enforcement forces in the immediate vicinity.
In less than five minutes, patrol cars arrived in the area and began a search. According to a television station, investigators found an empty blade sheath, however the person in possession of it was not located.
The investigation continues in order to establish the identity of the person who caused the alert and to determine his intentions.
