Two children aged 12 and 13 were caught in Eretria, Euboea, after they threw firecrackers that started a fire. Their parents were also arrested for failing to supervise them.

In Eretria, Euboea, two children aged 12 and 13 were apprehended by authorities on suspicion of causing a fire. The incident occurred on Monday at around 8 p.m., when the children threw firecrackers on a roadside slope, resulting in flames breaking out.
Firefighters arrived quickly at the scene and managed to extinguish the fire. Following an investigation conducted by the specialist arson crimes unit of the Fire Service, the two children were arrested under summary procedure.
At the same time, the children's parents, aged 35 and 42, were arrested on charges of negligent failure to supervise minors.
The Fire Service emphasises that most fires are caused by human negligence. Compliance with fire safety regulations and abstention from actions that can create sparks or fire are essential to protect the lives, environment and property of citizens.
