Fraud of €20,000 against 84-year-old in Domokos – perpetrator posed as accountant's employee
An unknown person defrauded an elderly woman in Phthiotis of €20,000, posing over the telephone as an employee of her accountant. The 84-year-old reported the incident the same afternoon.

An 84-year-old resident of a village in Domokos fell victim to a fraud scheme losing €20,000 on the afternoon of Thursday, 24 September 2026, according to Newsit.gr.
An unknown person contacted her by telephone, posing as an employee of her accountant. Using convincing pretexts about outstanding financial matters, he managed to persuade her to gather all the savings she kept at home.
The elderly woman placed the sum in a plastic bag and, following telephone instructions, left it outside her door. Unknown perpetrators who were lying in wait near the location snatched the bag and disappeared without being detected.
A short time later, the woman realised she had been defrauded and that same afternoon filed a complaint with Domokos Police Station. This is another instance of ruthless fraud being recorded in Phthiotis, with an elderly person as the victim.
