Three singers give evidence in the Kampouris and EFKA case
According to In.gr, three popular singers who had previously worked professionally with him were called to give statements as part of an investigation into felony fraud against EFKA with Philippos Kampouris as the alleged mastermind.
Kelly Kelekou: The singer was called to testify after she was found to be insured for a few months with Kampouris's sole proprietorship. In her statement she said: "During that period I was hired by P. Kampouris and worked as a singer at the nightclub. As far as I know the club belonged to him and for anything that came up we contacted him. My salary was paid via bank transfer and the company was mentioned on the accompanying documents."
She added that "she assumed it was his club, as it was the only company she had been hired by".
Alekos Zazopulos: The singer testified that he worked at the nightclub from 10 March 2022 to 25 May 2022, following Kampouris's proposal. "I don't know exactly what role he had in the business, but I know he had responsibilities related to its operation," he stated. His payment was made either in cash or by bank transfer, with transfers from an account with different beneficiary details.
Regarding his insurance with three additional companies, Zazopulos stressed: "I did not know I was insured with these, nor have I received any related payment." He also stated that in early 2023 Kampouris proposed that he perform at Vegas for the 2023–2024 season together with Stamatis Gonidis and Zafeiris Melas, however two days before the start he informed him that the collaboration would not proceed. "Since May 2022 I have not worked again at that particular nightclub, nor have I worked again with Philippos Kampouris," he concluded.
Giannis Kapsalis: According to information, the singer reportedly testified that during the period he appears to be insured he worked as a singer at the said entertainment venue. "My employer was Philippos Kampouris, with whom I concluded the agreement and he handled matters relating to my payment," he stated characteristically.
All three singers appeared to have been unaware of any irregularities in their insurance, while they described Kampouris as their main contact for all work and remuneration matters.
