Attempted robbery of gold chain in Agios Panteleimon – two 17-year-olds arrested
Two minors were arrested in Agios Panteleimon following an attempted robbery against a 42-year-old woman. One is alleged to have assaulted the woman, whilst the other was found in possession of a blade.

Two 17-year-olds were arrested in Agios Panteleimon on Sunday, 13 September, following an attempted theft of a gold chain from a 42-year-old woman, according to Newsbeast.
On the morning of the same day, one of the two minors approached the woman as she walked in the area. Using force, he attempted to remove the chain she was wearing around her neck. The attempt failed and the 42-year-old immediately called emergency services.
Police from the DI.AS. unit took over the investigation in the wider area. A few hours later they located the 17-year-old who is alleged to have carried out the assault. He was accompanied by a second peer, who according to police was found in possession of a blade.
Both minors were taken to the Saint Panteleimon Crime Investigation and Resolution Department. A case file was opened against them by the competent department. The first faces a charge of attempted robbery, whilst the second is being prosecuted for violation of weapons legislation due to the blade he possessed.
The two arrested individuals were brought before the competent prosecutor. The Hellenic Police have not announced so far whether they are investigating possible involvement of the two in other similar incidents in the same area.
