The weapon that caused the death was a hunting rifle, which was in the possession of the young homeowner. The victim's family pursued legal action, seeking compensation for emotional distress.
The court awarded a total of €360,000, including court costs and interest. The shooter's parents were held liable for inadequate supervision and safekeeping of the weapon.
In the criminal proceedings, the minor who fired the shot had been punished with reform measures by the competent court. The victim's family was represented by a law firm associated with Alexis Kougias.
