A television report has brought to light material from a pursuit in Argos, during which ΟΠΚΕ officers opened fire against a twenty-year-old. The young man was struck by bullets and remains in an intensive care unit.
The video material broadcast by Mega captures the moment of the pursuit. According to the report, the sounds from the weapons of the pursuing authorities reach twenty. However, only thirteen cartridge cases were found at the scene of the confrontation.
The injured man is hospitalised in serious condition and doctors are attempting to stabilise his condition. The incident is being investigated from both criminal and administrative perspectives.
The two police officers involved are facing charges of attempted murder with possible intent. An investigation is also being conducted by the Hellenic Police to determine whether the prescribed procedures were followed.
