An investigation into an organisation that was distributing controlled substances revealed that two police officers serving in order maintenance at the Euroleague Final-4 were demanding and receiving €900 from people in their close circles in exchange for allowing them entry without tickets.
The incident took place on 24 May 2026 at the Amaroussio indoor arena, prior to the semi-final between Olympiacos and Real Madrid. The two police officers had been assigned to order maintenance operations. One of them, a police constable, was arrested by the "Incorruptibles".
The investigation by Internal Affairs began into a drugs distribution ring led by a 32-year-old former Super League player. A total of six people have been arrested and twenty-four are facing charges. Among those implicated are the 32-year-old, a 29-year-old, a 50-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man who are connected by family ties, as well as individuals who supplied the 32-year-old with substances.
A 28-year-old woman, the former footballer's partner, is alleged to have had an active role in the process of receiving, storing and preparing the substances.
The arrested police constable had a supporting role in the organisation, according to the Hellenic Police. Due to his contacts with the 32-year-old, he is alleged to have distributed small quantities of substances or supplied them to acquaintances of his.
