A 62-year-old man has come under the jurisdiction of prosecuting authorities on the island of Patmos following an arrest in the act for violent assault against a foreign national. The incident took place on Saturday evening near Skala port.
According to a report by ERT, the perpetrator is alleged to have attacked a 46-year-old man, a Bangladeshi national, causing him injuries. The victim was transported by an EKAB ambulance to the local Health Centre for medical care.
The 62-year-old is expected to be brought before the Prosecutor. Patmos Port Authority is conducting a preliminary investigation to examine the circumstances and motives of the assault.
The authorities are examining all possibilities regarding the causes of the incident, and further details about the history of the confrontation have not yet been released.
