Officers from Volos security police have located the majority of money stolen from a 13-year-old, in a safe belonging to a relative of the 34-year-old suspect, who is deceased.

The sum of money recovered amounts to €270,000 of the total €350,000 that is alleged to have been taken from the minor. The safe was located inside an apartment in a workers' housing complex. Police officers entered the premises in the presence of a prosecutor.

Along with the cash, bundles of banknotes were also seized. The findings will be examined for fingerprints and genetic material in order to link them to the suspects.

The 34-year-old is alleged to be involved in the case of the money being taken from the 13-year-old. The authorities are investigating whether the deceased relative had any connection to the crime or whether his safe was simply used to conceal the stolen goods.

The case was solved following a multi-day investigation by the prosecuting authorities. Police are now investigating whether there are any other accomplices in the matter and whether the remaining money has been spent or remains hidden.
