The mother of a 13-year-old from Volos testified before court that her son had experienced systematic intimidation from individuals allegedly demanding money. The woman described how the child lived in a state of fear, as he had been told that he and his relatives would be harmed in case of refusal.

The case came to light when the family initially discovered the loss of €70,000 from their home. It was later established that the amount missing reached €370,000, according to a report by Naftemporiki.

A 34-year-old appeared before the Misdemeanour Court of Volos. The court determined that the factual circumstances that had emerged exceeded the limits of misdemeanour jurisdiction. A referral to the Court of Appeal for Felonies in Larissa was decided.

The accused was released on bail pending trial at a higher level. Investigations are continuing to establish the exact circumstances under which the money was taken from the family.
