A 52-year-old employee at a petrol station on Karamanlí Avenue in Voula doused an elderly customer with petrol following a verbal altercation. The perpetrator was arrested immediately by the DIAS unit.

A serious incident of violent behaviour occurred on Wednesday, 15 July, at a petrol station on Karamanlí Avenue in Voula. A 52-year-old employee of the station doused an elderly customer with petrol following a verbal dispute between them.
According to the Hellenic Police, the incident began around 2 p.m. The 92-year-old had gone to the petrol station to purchase fuel. When he realised he did not have enough money to pay, a disagreement erupted with the employee. The 52-year-old claimed he had already issued a receipt which he could not cancel.
During the altercation, the employee grabbed the petrol canister and doused the elderly man with the liquid. Subsequently, the 92-year-old attempted to leave the premises.
Police officers from the DIAS unit arrived immediately at the petrol station and arrested the perpetrator. A case file was opened against him for an act that could cause bodily harm.
An ambulance from EKAB was called to the scene to provide first aid to the victim. However, the elderly man refused to be taken to hospital.
