Officers from the Sports Violence unit have made ten arrests of members of an organised supporters' group, facing serious charges including attempted murder and extortion.

Early yesterday morning, an extensive police operation was launched across several areas of the capital, resulting in the arrest of ten individuals belonging to a structured group of Panathinaikos supporters. Officers from the Sports Violence unit carried out the operation. Those arrested are being held at GADA police headquarters, and their transfer to the prosecutor is planned.
According to information that has come to light from reporting by Newsit, the total number of individuals implicated in the case amounts to thirty-nine. The organisation appears to have begun its activities at least as far back as August of the previous year.
Members of the group are accused of attacking rival supporters and of incorporating the distribution of psychoactive substances into their plans. Additionally, investigations are underway into actions involving the use of improvised explosives and bottles containing flammable liquid.
The indictment includes the formation of a criminal organisation, arson endangering human lives, production and acquisition of explosive materials, attempted murder, causing bodily injury, destruction of others' property, robbery, extortion, illegal possession of weapons, and violation of narcotics legislation. For seven of those arrested, the additional charge of supervision of minors is included.
