Ten-year-old boy dead in irrigation canal in Heraclea Serres – Two arrests
A ten-year-old boy was pulled dead from an irrigation canal in Heraclea Serres on Wednesday. His mother and another woman have been arrested and are being taken to the prosecutor.

A ten-year-old boy lost his life in an irrigation canal in Heraclea Serres on Wednesday 28 May, according to ERT.
The child's family lives in a Roma settlement located next to the canal. His mother, realising that her son had been missing for a considerable period of time, began searching for him and notified the authorities.
Firefighters located the 10-year-old shortly afterwards unconscious in the canal. He was immediately transferred to hospital, where his death was confirmed.
The circumstances of the incident remain unclear. In the course of the investigation, two women were arrested: the child's mother, accused of endangering a minor, and a second woman for theft.
The autopsy was underway, whilst both of the accused are to be brought before the prosecutor in order to clarify the circumstances of the death.
