Police spokesperson Konstantía Dimoglídou responded to questions about three arrests of suspects 16 years after the deadly arson attack on the Marfin bank, categorically rejecting that the Police force is acting for publicity reasons.

In an interview with ERTNews, Police spokesperson Konstantía Dimoglídou referred to the three arrests of suspects made 16 years after the deaths of three people in the arson attack on Marfin bank.
Ms Dimoglídou rejected the claim that the arrests were made for publicity purposes. As she explained, the investigation did not begin recently, but the findings resulted from cooperation between the Homicide Department and the Anti-Terrorism Division, with the help of modern technological analysis tools.
The spokesperson emphasised that the evidence gathered was made available to the Justice system. Regarding the woman arrested in Britain, Ms Dimoglídou stated that her lawyer declared that her client wished to return to Greece. However, owing to the active arrest warrant, this is not possible before the proceedings in Britain are concluded.
