Christos Telkeredis, father of victim Angelos, gave emotional testimony at the Tempi trial. "I expect the court to rise to the occasion," he stated.

Father Telkeredis: "The indictment is inadequate" — the testimony that shook the Tempi trial
The testimony of Christos Telkeredis concluded the day's witnesses at the trial into the railway disaster at Tempi, according to Newsit.gr.
The father of Angelos Telkeredis, one of the victims, moved the court from the opening words of his testimony. "Angelos had dreams and they were taken from him. My child, they killed him, they burned him and threw him at me," he stated.
He demanded accountability from the judicial body: "I expect the court to rise to the occasion. Yes, the station master made a mistake, but no safety system was functioning."
Telkeredis also directed his criticism at the state, characterising the indictment as inadequate. "Why didn't they do this job properly? The indictment is inadequate. The state is always running behind events," he testified, adding: "I will pursue them with evidence and European Union laws. There is no respect for families, we are alone."
At the conclusion of his testimony, Angelos's father levelled harsh criticism at special investigating magistrate Sotiris Bakaimy, calling him the "gravedigger of the case."
The testimonies of relatives of victims continue on Tuesday, 13 October 2026.
