A Greek police officer was arrested during a random check on Vouliagmeni Avenue while riding a motorcycle without registration plates. He was found to be in possession of more rounds than provided for his two lawful pistols, as well as a knife and pepper spray.

The Internal Affairs Service of Security Forces has opened a file for violation of weapons legislation against an officer of the Greek Police, who was stopped during a random check last Thursday evening.
The incident occurred on Vouliagmeni Avenue, when a DIAS team stopped the police officer for inspection while he was driving a motorcycle without registration plates. During the subsequent search, it was found that the officer in question was in possession of two pistols which were lawful, however he had a larger number of cartridges in his possession than were provided for by the two weapons.
Furthermore, a knife and a pepper spray were found on him, for which a file was also opened. Approximately 8,000 euros in cash was also found in his possession. According to information, the police officer fully justified the origin of the sum, claiming that he had withdrawn it from a bank account.
The prosecutor was informed of the case and the police officer was released. The file that was opened will be submitted to the prosecutor's office for further handling.
