Double murder in Aigion: New details emerge about 54-year-old woman
Thirty days after the bodies of a 54-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son were discovered at their home in Longos, Aigion, new details are coming to light. Investigating authorities are examining the scenario that the mother killed her son and subsequently took her own life.
The medical history of the 54-year-old woman reveals that she was examined by a psychiatrist on 28 May 2026. At that time, she had reported symptoms of depression that had appeared approximately two and a half years earlier, following heart surgery. She described depressive mood, psychomotor retardation, reduced activity levels, sleep and appetite problems without weight change, and fleeting thoughts of death. She also reported long-standing alcohol consumption, ceasing only for certain months during the period of her surgery.
The report found no active suicidal or heteroaggressive ideation. Admission to a psychiatric unit had been proposed, but she refused and signed a relevant document. Her partner and other family members were informed by telephone. She was also offered participation in an alcohol rehabilitation programme and systematic psychiatric follow-up.
Her husband, a 65-year-old man of Italian origin, has consistently maintained that he had no involvement in the deaths. According to reports, the woman bore marks from two blows to the face, whilst Olympos had placed a knife under his pillow whilst sleeping.
