Double murder in Aigion: genetic material under investigation
A 65-year-old Italian man, who is being held at Korydallos Prison, continues to be the main suspect in the double homicide of his partner and her son, which took place in Longos, Aigion.
Konstantia Dimoglidou, spokesperson for the Hellenic Police, spoke on the ERT news programme "Syndeseis" and stated that the evidence collected so far does not provide a clear picture. "During the interrogation and forensic investigations, there is evidence still to be examined, so we do not have the full answers to have a clear picture," she said characteristically.
According to her, it is possible to find genetic material on a person's hands. However, she could not confirm what the defendant's lawyer stated, who has access to the case file.
To date, significant testimonies are considered those of the friend who first notified the defendant, as well as those of the relatives of the 54-year-old woman and her son.
The police investigation continues, whilst it remains open whether there may be a fourth person who could be involved in the case.
