DNA confirms parents of three children – nine-year-old exception in Kypseli case

According to In.gr, DNA examination results conducted as part of the investigation into the infant's death in Kypseli showed that the 43-year-old man and 38-year-old German woman are the biological parents of three of the four children: the 15-year-old girl, the 12-year-old boy, and the dead infant. For the nine-year-old, DNA confirmed he is the son of the 38-year-old woman, but not of the 43-year-old man.

The 38-year-old's statement

The 38-year-old described exclusively to MEGA the infant's final moments, claiming the death was due to pathological causes. According to her account, the baby likely suffered seizures. Despite the fact that it had no pulse and was not breathing, she maintains that together with another person they attempted to perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the child. "Its eyes were open and it had no pulse," she said, describing the moment she discovered its death.

She admits that once death was established she decided to place the infant's body in the freezer. She explained that she could not accept that her child had died and did not want to be separated from it. According to her statement, they wrapped it and then placed it in the freezer, where it remained until it froze.

What the children revealed

The authorities are seeking the statements of the three underage children as a primary source of information. Their examinations were conducted at the "House of the Child" in the presence of child psychologists.

The 15-year-old girl reportedly revealed that she knew the baby had died and later learned about its placement in the freezer. The 12-year-old boy reportedly also stated that at some point he was informed of the infant's existence in the freezer. The nine-year-old, according to the same information, knew nothing.

The children's statements have not been completed. A second and third round of examination will follow in the presence of specialists, as the authorities continue to reconstruct the facts of the case.
