DNA tests in Kypseli: 43-year-old man and 38-year-old woman are biological parents of three children

DNA results confirm that the two arrested individuals are the biological parents of three of the four children. Tomorrow they are being brought before an investigating magistrate on charges of infanticide.

Kypseli: DNA results bring new data to the baby case

DNA examinations of the four children of the family in Kypseli have been completed, according to reports by ERT. The results show that the 43-year-old man and the 38-year-old German woman are the biological parents of the baby, the 15-year-old, and the 12-year-old.

However, for the 9-year-old, the results showed that he is the son of the 38-year-old but not of the 43-year-old — despite her statement to the authorities that all her children were from the same partner.

Contradictory statements about the time of death

Significant contradictions have been found between the statements of the two parents. The 43-year-old claims they were all at home on the day the baby died, whilst the 38-year-old states that she was absent at that time.

The children themselves testified yesterday evening to the police that they knew their younger sibling was dead. They also knew that from 2022 until now the body had been kept frozen in a suitcase — for a period of four years.

15-year-old in relationship with 26-year-old Afghan man

The 15-year-old told police officers that she was in love with the 26-year-old Afghan man, with whom she reportedly maintained an intimate relationship over a considerable period of time. According to her own statements, the 15-year-old is reported to be four months pregnant.

Three adults to be brought before investigating magistrate tomorrow

Tomorrow it is expected that the three adult defendants will appear before the investigating magistrate: the 43-year-old, the 38-year-old German woman, and the 26-year-old Afghan man. All three are charged with infanticide.

Today, the trial of a 44-year-old was adjourned to 5 September regarding an incident that occurred on the first day of the Prosecutor's intervention, when he came into conflict with police officers. He faces charges of attempted grievous bodily harm as a repeat offence, insult, threat, damage to another's property, violence against officials, and attempted escape.
