Murder of 15-year-old in Kallithea: Seven arrests and manhunt by police
Police have made seven arrests in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old in Kallithea, including a 17-year-old believed to be the perpetrator. Ten additional individuals are being sought.

Prosecuting authorities have proceeded with seven arrests in connection with the death of a 15-year-old student in Agias Eleoussas square, in the Kallithea area. Among those brought in is a 17-year-old who is considered responsible for the homicide, whilst investigations continue to locate ten additional individuals. All those involved are minors or at the threshold of adulthood.
The motives for the attack are believed to be connected to personal differences, rivalries between supporter groups, and disputes over control of the specific square. Those arrested have refused to cooperate with investigating officers and have provided no explanation for the events, even avoiding mentioning the victim's name.
It is noteworthy that the 15-year-old had been beaten in the area a few weeks prior, despite having no connection to Kallithea, as he lived in the northern suburbs of Athens. He had previously been arrested twice for illegal possession of weapons (a knife and knuckleduster), but continued to present himself as a hardened member of a supporter faction. Photographs of him had been posted on social media platforms by supporter groups saying goodbye to him.
The 17-year-old admitted to police that he killed the 15-year-old, without explaining his reasons. He claimed only that his group was attacked first with a blade and he responded in the same manner.
